YARDDASH // PART REQUEST GUIDE

Used Headlight Assembly sourcing guide

A headlight assembly aims and projects the forward lighting beam. It may change with trim, LED or HID equipment, adaptive lighting, and left-versus-right position.

YardDash does not claim that a particular headlight assembly is in stock. A potential source and visible condition are verified privately before you decide whether to approve the next step.

WHAT THIS PART DOES

How the headlight assembly fits into the vehicle

The assembly holds the lens, reflectors or projectors, lamps or LED electronics, mounting tabs, seals, and sometimes adaptive or leveling hardware.

REMOVAL SKILL LEVEL

Intermediate — often a careful DIY task, but modern LED/adaptive assemblies and bumper removal can raise the difficulty.

HID systems and some LED assemblies contain high-voltage electronics. Follow the manufacturer procedure and avoid powering damaged connectors.

COMMON FAILURE CLUES

What customers may notice

  • Cracked lens, broken mounting tabs, moisture inside the housing, or a damaged connector
  • A nonworking lamp or LED system after fuse, bulb, wiring, and control-module faults have been checked
  • Poor beam aim after collision damage or a loose assembly

REMOVAL EXPECTATIONS

What the job commonly involves

  • Many vehicles require removal or partial loosening of a bumper cover, wheel-liner fasteners, grille pieces, or upper trim
  • Connectors, bulb covers, aiming hardware, and fragile mounting tabs need careful handling
  • The left and right assemblies, as well as halogen, HID, LED, and adaptive versions, are not automatically interchangeable

INSTALLATION CHECKS

Before the vehicle goes back into service

  • Match side, trim, lighting technology, module/bulb requirements, and connector count
  • Check lens clarity, tabs, seals, vents, and connector condition before installation
  • Aim the lamps using the vehicle procedure after the body panels are reassembled

PREPARE THE MATCH

Details that make the request more accurate

  • Vehicle year, make, model, trim, and left or right side
  • Halogen, HID, LED, adaptive, or daytime-running-light equipment
  • A photo of the existing assembly and connector when available

VERIFY BEFORE APPROVAL

What YardDash reviews

  • The requested side and equipment are reviewed before a source is proposed
  • Lens, housing tabs, connectors, and visible moisture damage are checked in person
  • Condition information is shared before a customer approves the next step
Use the factory repair information for the exact vehicle. These are planning and sourcing guides, not a substitute for diagnosis, torque specifications, safety procedures, programming, or a qualified technician. YardDash verifies a possible source and visible condition before approval; it does not promise a part is available, compatible, or ready to install.
